Waiting on the inbound UA680, which is going to be 6+ hours late. My flight (687) is still live, yet I can't image that the crew/pilot would still be legal with a 6+ hour delay. Booked on tomorrow DL and UA flights (will probably take DL, more reliable at this point and leaving earlier, crew more likely to be here), would love to pack it in at this point but still holding out hope (need to be in Chicago tomorrow AM for work, really would prefer to go tonight if possible).

Armchair travelers - what is the % chance that a flight under these conditions goes? UC agents are good, I've asked them point blank about crew legality issues, but they're not sure either.

Really hard to know. If the crew was just starting out, they could have reached them at the hotel and held them there, so their duty day hadn't started yet. Or they started late and that 6 hour delay may make them illegal after ORD, but legal for your jet. Hard to say on a forum board, you may just have to pester the GA, they can pull up the crew.
