Just got back from this hotel after having flown all the way from North Carolina to relax and unwind. 28 hours later and considerable monies later we arrived.
The driver fro the hotel at the airport did not bother to identify himself, and had no sign. Thus I waited 45 minutes after I arrived to get collection (only after I called the hotel....even though we re-confirmed pickup 24 hours earlier). The cab was a private cab chartered by the hotel and was gross and smelly.
Finally got to the hotel, which is in a seedy part of town. Looks like Miami in the 70's at the hotel. Hotel had no idea about the tour included in my room package.
Went to my Regent Club suite, and when I got off the elevator in the 'regent club' I was met with mouldy, green, soiled carpeted halls....in a tropical place. VERY musty, very outdated and depressing.
Room was a museum to the 70's. Painting on the wall said 1976, and I swear to god the rooms have not been renovated since. The TV's were old school cathode rays, the internet very slow (sign in the room advertised wifi since may 2012!) haha...room dirty, bathroom hot and weird. Couch was horrible and all pillows flattened due to over use. Bed was rock hard and the decor horrendus. I really wished I could have checked out and flown home.
Pools were physically dirty and had green on the walls of the pool. Staff at regent club told us to avoid the main pool as it is always 'dirty'.
Beach loungers old fashioned and ALL cushions were cut and growing black mold. A health hazard and depressing.
Food was OK, club lounge a dump and full of prostitutes and airline pilots.
For $300 a night....my rate, I was seriousely NOT impressed.
How on earth is this even a Hyatt hotel? I assume it is a cashcow as it is full of Russians and Japanese who never complain (and dont know better). As the sole mainland American I was repulsed.
Hyatt is not a franchise so someone knows this little outpost exists.
Give me park hyatt anyday, and Hyatt regency Dulles airport whenever, but Hyatt Regency Saipan needs to be demolished.............DUMP!
Did you choose to fly all the way to Saipan just to stay at the Hyatt? Did you not research Saipan? I'm not attacking you but If you would look at the pictures (even on the hotel website) you will see this place is a bit Polynesian old school.

Japanese do complain and expect better but Saipan is the budget place. It's basically cheap and they expect it to be a beat down. You paid 300 a night but this place can be had usually for 120 or less. The Guam property is a bit nicer.

The location and the prostitutes. Have you been to Hawaii? Same thing. This is part of life for the islands and most Asian countries.

I'm sorry you had a bad time, but if you came from North Carolina to just "vacation in Saipan" then you really should've done better research.
