Yes.
Your get your Hilton status for the remaining year of the year you earn your status and the next 15 months.

So general speaking if you you qualify for the Gold status in 2011, you will be Gold until 31st March 2013.

I am hoping it stays this way even after the Platinum card is cancelled.
