Ping! An amusing e-mail from AmEx headed
Experience the Exciting World of Enhanced Platinum.
It mentions 'more than 1,000 airport lounges in 83 countries' (so including airline lounges) and majors on Priority Pass and its 'network of over 600 VIP lounges worldwide'.
Nothing new, then. But wait, what's this? Scan down to the small print and there's this:

IME, PP was a benefit renewed as and when (every two years?) by AmEx, so I wonder if this is a change. In any case, the terms used are similar to those in correspondence from AmEx about the Cathay Pacific Marco Polo gold card.
I'm not going to add one and one to make three, but could this terminology be AmEx's CYA way of hinting that the benefits may continue after the first year or is it all just weasel words? I mentioned before that I was a glass-half-full type of person and was shot down in flames.

It would be too late for me as I have decided in principle to give up my plat card.
