You should be able to have it especially tagged and it should now be brought up to the aircraft door, this is a new system. You need to make sure the ground staff at ORD realise that you want to use it at LHR.
However sometimes, if it is small, it may be possible to bring it on the aircraft, this depends on how big it is and how many other families with pushchairs there are.
Let the cabin crew know that you really need it at LHR and I am sure they will make sure that, one way or another, you get it back at the door.
