I think this has a pretty slim chance of working out, but at the very least I'll have 100,000 more AA miles when it's done for another trip.
I remember when I signed up not seeing the signup bonus and wondering too, but when I called to activate the cards I asked the rep to confirm the bonus and she did so. Once I hit the minimum spend and my billing cycle closed, it posted to AA within a few days.

Hope it works out for you and you get that trip!
