ALso, just to get back to the orginal post -I've been to Thailand more than 20 times.

The only things that have happened to me are:

1. Metered taxi's with "bad" meters...one time i was watching and the meter was jumping by like 10-20 baht at a time...but not regularly. Sometimes would be the normal 2 baht - then all of a sudden 20 baht. I think maybe the driver had a button or something? Clicked when he thought i wasn't looking...

2. Pick-pocketed on a baht bus in Pattaya - loose bills in shorts pocket (~300 baht) fortunately the 1000 baht bills i had were tucked away safely.
