It reminds me how much in admiration I am of the first people who fly a newly designed aircraft. It's one thing in the modern era when the first Dreamliner, highly computer-modelled, tested and certified, takes to the skies. It's quite another in the early years of aviation when the pilots must have thundered down the runway and wondered "am I actually going to take off..?"
