Yes, they were--especially since they weren't employed by Alaska.
(AS contracts out their Hawaiian station operations--I think KOA is actually operated by UA, although it might be DL.)
In other words, you'd likely get the same type of treatment from those same agents if you were flying the airline that employs them.
