I had that once in MMB when AC cancelled the codeshare YYZ-ZRH segment of my booking flight about a month before my trip. No communication at all it was just something I noticed when I checked on my booking. I phoned up LX and they told me to call AC but when I pointed out that it was LX who sold me the ticket they put me on YYZ-YUL-ZRH which meant more miles for me plus seat 4A on the 333.

I would phone LX and then lead the agent through the process.
