I decided to forgo the GUF2 this year and try VS LHR/JFK for the first time ever on Saturday ... more of which possibly later. After the doors were closed they did a general PA to announce the souls on board figures, which I thought somewhat unusual and had it been done after take off, slightly alarming! Maybe it's normal VS procedure.
This is very regular on VS, and sometimes they also include the name of the aircraft (displayed at the front near the flight deck windows).
