Where to stay in Seoul?
Hello,
I need some helping planning for a trip to Seoul. My wife and I plan on heading to Seoul for 4-5 days during a trip to Japan, Korean, and the Maldives.
But where should we stay? We could do 5th night free awards at either the Westin Chosun or Sheraton D Cube. There is no FT link in the master threads list to D Cube, nor is it discussed in the "Seoul, where to stay" thread. Value means a lot to me, and if we have to stay during peak season, 16k/night is a lot of points to unload, and I'd probably stay at the D cube unless it is really far out or a complete dump. If I can get a low season rate at the Westin (seems to be available last week of September, generally, which I could swing) I might pay the extra points if it's compelling.
Alternatively, we could stay at the Parky Hyatt Seoul, which would cost me 15k Hyatt points per night. At that price, we'd likely do only four nights. My Hyatt points come from Ultimate Rewards, so they'd be competing with United for alternate uses. Ultimate Rewards points are a lot easier for me to get, but 60k is still not insignificant.
So, any thoughts on:
1. Sheraton D Cube 5th night free (Cat 4) vs
2. Westin Chosun 5th night free (Cat 5 low/high, the difference is meaningful to me... at high season, I'd be looking at 24k more SPG points over the Sheraton) vs
3. Park Hyatt Seoul
