At LHR the problem of using widebody aircraft used to be that only longhaul crew could operate. But with the single fleet at Gatwick and MF at LHR, I suppose these substitutions are easier. Are BA's longhaul fleet well used at LGW and would there be opportunity to use the 777s on shorter flights? I know carriers such as UA in the US use its longhaul aircraft on shorter hops, between flights. It makes a nice change.
