FYI - this is for a paid ticket with upgrades (miles/money and GPUs) used for the overseas segments. The original agent was very worried about doing something that would impact the rest of my journey and due to my paranoia, i quickly agreed.
SDC is probably your best option assuming you don't want to spend $250 on the change fee just to change your domestic flight and have a little more time on the layover. Assuming earlier flight isn't too heavily booked, shouldn't be a problem.
