Are these awards capacity controlled or why would I have been denied the ability to book?
The entry level suite is the Grand Suite. More or less everything in the industry is capacity controlled and certain room categories will also be overbooked frequently, therefore it is almost impossible to assess the booking situation after checking availability on a website.
The Grand Singapore is known to be booked pretty solid most of the time.
In addition to that and I am trying to word it as objective as possible, the Grand Singapore is not really known for stellar GPP Diamond treatment, they used to come up with their own rules or bent GPP rules to their favour in the past, therefore I can only wish you lots of luck.
