Wow! Some scary stuff going around, I went to Barcelona and never felt threatened, but I did watch my stuff at all times. I felt that when I was in India, I felt a lot safer than I would when compared to being in rough areas of the UK, and I was often in the run down areas. I had heard that pickpocketing was bad in Barcelona, but never as bad as on this thread. Being held at gunpoint/knife point sounds terrifying.

I thought Barcelona was such a lovely city, but if I go back now (which I am pretty definite I will), I will definitely keep my wits about me!
