Should be a little less than 1mile across "Englischer Garten", about 10-15min by foot, from the Hilton to the subway station "Giselastraße" (U3/U6).
From there it's a 3min ride to "Marienplatz", which is directly at city hall & Viktualienmarkt, part of the pedestrian area, 3min from Hofbräuhaus and connects to pretty much any other line in town.
Hilton Munich city would be more conveniently located, but still a decent tourist location. You also have the park right next to you (great place to hang out if the weather is ok, including 2 beer gardens (I'd prefer "Seehaus because of the view of the lake) and Leopoldstraße (lots of bars & restaurants) and Maximilianstraße ("high-end" shopping/boutiques) are also close by from Giselastraße.
