Many years ago the route used to be London-Muscat-Singapore-Australia. The plane was on final approach to Muscat when the control tower told the Captain to abort the landing. As the plane powered back into the sky, the purser came on and announced "Sorry, the Captain has just remembered his unpaid car-park ticket. We will be continuing on directly to Singapore"
