The question I am asking is whether BA would ever consider selling an upgrade to a QF Economy Award customer.
I appreciate that no one knows whether there might be availability on that flight on that day.
But is it within BA's operating procedures to take money to upgrade an Award passenger if there were an empty seat in CE?

Fair enough. But is it even possible under any circumstances? Or is it "against the rules"?
