This sounds like a fire alarm, but I've never heard of an automated alarm that didn't instruct you to leave the building. I guess at the airport they would rather risk people staying in the concourse than allow exiting onto the tarmac in case it's a false alarm?

I hate (but find humorous) the alarms at hotels that say to "cease operations and evacuate the building" during the middle of the night. When my "operation" is sleeping, that's not something that can be ceased at the turn of a hat!
