UA's absolute cut off for HAVING BEEN checked in is 60 minutes. Manchester Airport recommends three hours which is ridiculous. I always leave 2 hours, which gives some flex if travel to the airport goes awry - but then I benefit from the 1k line which outside the US seems to go pretty quickly.
