Hi

I am looking at spending a few days in Seattle, taking the ferry up to Victoria and flying home from Vancouver.

To get there from London I sort of have 3 main options.

1. BA London-Seattle with an open jaw back from Vancouver.

2. AC London via Vancouver to Seattle and then with an open jaw back from Victoria again via Vancouver. This is all on one ticket and they have a fairly good fare.

or

3. TS (charter) from London to Vancouver return and then an separate AC ticket from Vancouver to Seattle.


My question is how easy is it to transit Vancouver when arriving from the UK and travelling to the States? I was under the impression that Vancouver airport had US customs and immigration so passengers were pre cleared before they departed for the States.

Sorry I am sure that I am not explaining this well. I think the last time I went to Vancouver passengers from overseas had to go through immigration before they got their bags. As I guess US customs would want to see the bags would I have to go through Canadian immigration, collect the bags, go through US customs and immigration and re check the bags??
