I wouldn't waste 15k Avios on 3 bottles of champagne.
Better to spend say £40 on a cheap flight from LGW-MAN, time it right so you get breakfast and lunch in the lounge and drink to your heart's content. 10TP and 1000 Avios (for Silver and above) as a bonus if you actually make the flight....
