And yet China, Cambo, Laos, Myanmar, Indo and Vietnam all give you one. Thailand if you get somethign other than a visa exemption stamp.

I had three additions to my last passport before the US embassy refused any more and I needed a new passport 3 years early. That's life. The alternative is not to travel to countries who issue a full visa or just roll with it. And to go on a visa run, which this most assuredly was, and where you have a choice of countries to go to, and then complain is well, silly.

It's a silly complaint.
