I really don't believe that passengers were ever in danger. Definitely both needed to be fixed but I don't think its anywhere near as severe as the FAA tries to make it out to be. The $1 million fine seems a little outrageous for the offenses but what can I say, nothing with the FAA or US government surprises me anymore. Hopefully the $1 million can go towards getting a new air traffic control system in place but that would make too much sense....
