Hello-

Has anyone used the online "change flights" option to change a return flight when the upgrade for the outbound flight (international) has already cleared? Looks like united.com provides a convenient way to select a new return flight, but:

I'm worried about two things:

(a) I wonder if I will retain my already-cleared upgrade for the outbound flight, as I'm not changing this portion.

(b) Although I'm waitlisted for the upgrade on the return flight, I wonder if they will re-charge me the Upgrade fee (miles+money) for the changed leg, or will my upgrade waitlist transfer to the new flight.

Just wanted to see if others have had experience with this scenario before I take the plunge. THANKS
