I'm a bit concerned about this - the regular rooms are apparently very small but the hotel is also working out quite expensive compared with what I could get elsewhere in London (£155 room only - I can get Malmaison B&B plus free cocktails for the same price, the Guoman Charing Cross for £85 room only etc).
I'm now wondering if I should be going to this effort to get the 50k points...
Any thoughts?
Thanks
If you have no status with Carlson, I doubt you will get the upgrade. I have been offered upgrades to Business Class rooms with points at check-in versus paying cash, so it can be done. Surely location is a factor too? The other two brands you mention are in differing parts of town. 50k points can be very useful if used judiciously but it's a value judgement.
