A PhD candidate (in an appropriate discipline) looking for a thesis topic might consider comparing the responses by forum (tribe) when some poor schmuck is foolhardy enough to post something like our OP did here. This BA crowd is one tough room, placing strong emphasis on individuals doing the "right thing" and none on the corporation's decision not to spend $50 making two passengers extremely happy. Must have plenty of butts waiting in line to fill their seats, though from all the I-class sales it doesn't look that way.

In this case I'm surprised the crowd assigns little blame to the corporation; I assume that the CofC includes words like "we take no blame whatsoever for anything that happens to your baggage", else they would have someone checking bag tags at the exit as was common (at least in the US) not too many decades past.
