I think in my complaint letter to Delta for their contractor's poor handling of the canceled flight, I got the original routing credit along with the $250 voucher for the money I spent on UA baggage without ever doing anything else other than writing the complaint. The only thing I had to do was provide my other half's SkyMiles number so she would get some miles added to her account.
