I mistakenly assumed that what I would get from BA was an offer of assistance in getting the MAD bag back to its owner immediately. Instead I was told to return the MAD bag as soon as reasonably possible. We couldn't do that today. Rest assured we will try tomorrow. The comment as to end of the week was my incredulous "even if it took till the of the week?" response to the refusal of BA to offer assistance to get the bag back to the MAD passenger.
Thanks for clarifying the situation. I can understand that arriving at your hotel after 7pm (assumed from time of first post) after a long journey may mean you feel unable to return to the airport tonight. I often arrive "dead on my feet" and likely to make such a situation worse due to jet-lag-brain.

Glad to read the clarification and that you will head to LHR (or arrange with the concierge) tomorrow.

MAD pax should at least now have the reassurance that his case has been located.

I wish you a pleasant stay in London once the case exchange is settled.
