Okay so according to most here, I have falsified my tax returns. I didn't think so then, but now obviously I'm having second thoughts.
I did NOT do this with intent to cheat the IRS. Though, ignorance is not an excuse. I realize that.

I did not come here to be morally judged. If most of you make a lot of money and have businesses that justify AMEX giving you a business Platinum credit card, then, I'm really happy for you.
I came here, because from what I've seen so far, FT is filled with people who know a lot about a lot of things than I will learn in a decade, and I needed guidance.

I did NOT lie to AMEX. I declared my "income" exactly as the rep asked me when he was taking my application. He said that I didn't have to declare any other income unless if I wanted it to be taken into consideration. Which I did, because I felt that there was no way, Amex would give me this card just looking at my meager income. I did NOT know what I was doing was wrong.

YES, i did this to earn some points. I am not that rich to do mileage runs and other such things and an oppurtunity to get 100k points was too good to pass up on.

NO, i did not know that money earned on eBay was taxable (I mean, small time earnings) and nor did I ever consider myself "self-employed". My PRIMARY job is part-time at a pharmacy. And I did not know that money gotten from a relative or from reselling small amounts of electronics could be taxable. Yes, I earned about $5000 doing this, but a huge chunk of that was my money to begin with so the profit was not that large.

Anyway, I have spoken to Amex. I am going to send them everything that they asked for. I hope that the card doesn't get cancelled. If it does, then, heck I probably deserve it for being greedy, right?

If anyone here knows whether or not Amex would give me a heads up BEFORE cancelling the cards, do let me know. If not, Moderator please feel free to delete this thread.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions and observations. I truly appreciate them.
