Flying private definitely cuts travel time for these sorts of itineraries. Having said that, I didn't find the citations comfortable at all. Hot. Cramped. Uncomfortable.

Now if one has a 757 fitted out for private travel, that is certainly the way to go. Smaller than a 737? No thanks. I'd rather fly commercial in a first class seat. I have declined private flying a number of times and gone commercial instead. Based on the celebs and professional athletes I've seen on-board my flights this year alone, I seems that lots of people who have the means to fly private actually choose to go commercial. I guess they don't like private air travel any more than I do.
Agreed - if you've ever flown on a G-V from New York to Tokyo, you'll know it ain't that great.
