I always feel the "if it ain't Boeing I ain't going" attitude is nonsensical but my attitude towards flying an aircraft manufactured by Comac would be the same.

I suppose that's because Comac is not (as far as I'm aware) a tried and tested commercial manufacturer whereas even when Airbus was new it had the experience of its constituent companies.

Perhaps BA is just trying to curry favour with the Chinese authorities.
