I think you are getting turned around because of seat guru. There are two versions of the 380 on seat guru. Check version 2. These days I dont trust seat guru for much. It is rarely updated and a lot of the info is wrong. It seems that site went downhill once it was bought out and became part of tripadvisor.
When I enter the flight number, there is only one option that meets the specifics of our flight....leaving LAX at 4:00 pm and landing at CDG at 11:35. The link to version 2 is not even showing.

I got two different confirmation numbers. One for Delta and one for the short jaunt (on AF) to BCN. I had to then go in and select seats on the two websites (except I discovered that seats assignments are only given at the gate for the 2nd leg). It doesn't matter....this first leg is what mattered and learning that it is most likely version 2, well, that let's me breath a sigh of relief.
