Earning miles through my credit card spending is the only way I earn miles so if I need to get the BA AMEX card to continue to do that I will.

Continues to earn in DC until further notice. They will not become Avios cards because of the BA deals with Lloyds and Amex, they will simply at some point become non-miles earning MBNA branded cards, probably.
