That's interesting about KLM. I like having a name badge and like that certain customers, particularly when trying to resolve a situation onboard or introducing myself to GCH's and customers in First, feel they can speak to me more personally because they know my name. I don't think that a surname adds or takes anything away from that situation. Sadly, we have had some unfortunate stalking incidents here as well and am amazed asset protection have not been all over this.

Regarding stalkers that are cabin crew, well, I suppose the difference is that if we stalked you after a flight, we would lose our jobs because it would be very obvious how we'd found you. The passenger information list is a sensitive document that is disposed of when we file our flight paperwork. There doesn't however, seem to be any issue for a customer to stalk someone wearing a name badge on certain social media sites. Some of the requests, although still irritating, are very sweet natured and just misguided, but are still fed back to the company to let them know we are not happy with surnames on name badges. I have seen and heard of some though that are up there with Fifty Shades of Grey in their "inappropriateness", and depending on the recipient can either be very upsetting or good for a giggle downroute.
