I didn't say it was a breach of any data protection legislation, but that it is a data protection and privacy issue.
I understand from a customer service perspective that as British Airways would like to be the most admired airline across the world's key cities that we have to have a premium product that promotes the best of British, and that establishments such as the Dorchester have their staff wearing their full names on name badges. The reality for us as cabin crew however is that we come into contact with a lot of people who could want to use our information maliciously. I do not think it is bad customer service that a customer does not know my surname. I am the only
Lite onboard and usually the only
Lite in my particular rank. Why anyone needs to know any more than that just strikes me as creepy, but that's a personal not a professional opinion.
