1. I haven't been to LAX in a loooong time. How long will it take me to walk from Terminal 6/7 (United Lounges) to the TBIT?
If you are connecting at LAX: You will have to exit Terminal 6/7 and go through security again in the TBIT. I recommend taking the free shuttle from terminal to terminal, otherwise you're walking outside (not sure about the walking time, though). There is no direct/secure link between the TBIT and the other terminals at this time, probably not for a few years at best. Therefore, I'm not sure if the lounge passes are worth it, as I don't know how long your connection is.

However, if you are starting your trip at LAX, you will check-in at the TBIT, go through security there, and stay there until your flight boards. As I mentioned, there's no way to get to another terminal from there, at this time.

IIRC, you can't get to these terminals very easily (underground tunnels, etc.). Also, because you can't walk easily to your gate in the TBIT (since the terminals aren't connected to it), it's just not worth the trouble, if you ask me.

Furthermore, I don't think you can use those Chase passes in the Star Alliance lounge in the TBIT, as they are only for the United Club which are in T6/7.
