I always liked the champagne glass look at night at MEM and the one SC thing is just practical for the size of the airport. That being said, how can DL justify keeping hubs in ATL, MEM, CVG, DTW and MSP? Five hubs where two could probably be sufficient.

IMHO, ATL is the biggest dump if you are in T, A, B (I despise B, I really do), C or D, but the fortress hub isn't going anywhere. Previously, I would much rather connect in MEM than ATL, but given the downgaging of MEM, really can't risk IROPS with so few flight options. If destination were not a factor, my preferences of a connecting airport in order would be DTW, MSP, CVG, MEM then ATL of those five mentioned previously.

I hope I am wrong, but I think MEM and CVG will continue a slow fade to focus city status with MSP declining to more of a minor hub. However, I don't see DL pulling an abadonment of these cities like US did in PIT.
