Should I worry? (unable to check in - part AA award, paid BA onward)

Tomorow I fly on the Eagle and AA from BNA---JFK---LHR. There, I change to BA to go to CPH. The AA part is an award. I bought the BA ticket when I got the award. There were no award tickets available at that time on BA to CPH. Today, I tried to check in. No go. Called AA. Second agent said maybe it was because I had bought BA ticket. Tried to connect me with Web Services, but that didn't work.
Received email from AA saying I could check in. Followed that link, but again was denied. "We are unable to check you in. Please check in at the airport with an agent." All info has been entered and resv. page says, "All information required for online check-in has been provided.
Online check-in will be available 24 hours prior to your departure. "
Should I be worried? Is it because I bought the BA ticket? It's all on one record loc. in the email AA sent. I don't remember this happening on past trips. Many thanks, Julia
