Sad for Pluna....but inevitable. Uruguay does not need a national airline. There is no sizable domestic route structure. International demand can be handled perfectly well by LA, JJ, G3, TA, AA, IB, CM, and AR. Assuming the airline is liquidated (which is not a given yet), I could see all the above carriers increasing frequencies to/from MVD with the exception of AA and IB.
Politics and national pride may intervene and the government may try to find someone to run some kind of airline there. IMHO, that would be a mistake. Uruguay should just concede that it isn't big enough to support an airline in today's world.
Not to mention that their principal route (or what I expect was their principal route, MVD/AEP) consists of a fairly hostile (economically) environment in which to run a business.
