If it's all domestic flying it should be operated as a direct or thru flight with one a/c. Unfortunately sometimes they do switch airplanes on a direct flight, usually to get a particular airplane cycled through a maintenance station later that night. And as always, Murphy's Law will cause a terminal change or the 2 gates farthest away from each other. Trust me, crews hate when that happens too!
