I don't quite understand all the hate for Canadian immigration. Despite the fact that as a one-time permanent resident I've been sent to my fair share of secondary screenings, I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to get through it, and I've invariably found the staff to be pleasant and friendly.
On the other hand, I completely agree with everyone who says US CBP people are the worst. As a US citizen, I get frustrated with these clowns and their arbitrary, sullen unpleasantness. I can only imagine what it's like for someone coming to visit the US.
