Seems to me that with the aggressive mainland-Hawaii schedule the 753 (now on to cover for 763ERs now in mod), that the 753s may take more time to convert. My guess is they wanted to get the ETOPS ones done, but it slipped due to other issues.

Additionally, one non-ETOPS 753 is now in MCO for DTV. One would hope it would get E+ and an STC for the DTV/E+ configuration. So, then the question is whether UA would push the 753s (probably domestic versions) through the DTV line (11-16 days each), or get back onto the E+ on at least the ETOPS aircraft. Could the ETOS versions getting E+ prior to DTV indicate their heavy Hawaii use in a subfleet and going for DTV later?

It would make sense to me to get the ETOPS birds completed as soon as 3855 comes out of DTV/E+ mod, then get back onto the DTV/E+ mod on the non-Etops birds, but who knows what UA will do.

Unfortunately, it seems that UA has started and gotten toward finishing a fleet, then move on to another fleet before completion. After the 752s got finished in quick order, 738/739s moved along nicely, followed by the 735. However the 735s are not completed, (but probably because the four remaining will be pulled form service soon), 73G near the finish line, but slowed down with 7 to go, 738/739 stuck waiting for DTV mod on about 30 aircraft or more. 772s moving along and 764s are probably held up due to summer peak.

Probably late August, we'll see things move quicker as Summer is time to fill seats and make money. While we all want things to happen "today" it takes a long time to do conversions on entire fleets of aircraft, so don't take me as being negative - I think they're doing the best they can.
