I apologize for asking something that must have been asked and answered 100x, but my search attempts have come up empty.

1. I have booked a WT+ ticket LAX-LHR-LAX. I wish to upgrade both legs using Avios but the upgrade is not available (according to the website). Do I have any alternative to just checking it over and over again via manage my booking (i.e., is there some kind of waitlist I can get on, either online or via an agent?)

2. Can I upgrade using Avios and still credit my flights to my AA FF#? If so, should I initially provide a BA # until the upgrade clears (or until I am certain it won't), and then change it? If I provide an AA FF# from the start, will I still be able to upgrade with Avios via BA.com?

If it is relevant, I am AA PLT and a BA-prole.

3. As an AA PLT, should I be able to select my seats for free? BA is trying to charge me about 50 bucks per leg.
