From what I understand, all personal AMEX cards will use MR Express points which can't be used to redeem things like airline miles. I want to confirm with you guys here that if I apply for a business card in the future (Gold Premiere or Platinum) that I will be able to use these points. I read that no matter how many AMEX cards you have, you still have one account with them and the points are all there. Do I have to transfer them from one card to another (any fees for that)?
I also want to know if I will have any problems applying for future AMEX cards (maybe in a few months or less) like the business ones (Gold/Platinum) and SPG.
Any other "extra" sign up bonus for the Blue Cash card or any other card besides the default ones mentioned at the AMEX website?
Plan is to keep this no annual fee card for the long run unless it's worth closing it and churning every 12 months? Still very new to this game but it looks like if I apply for one of these personal cards I can't apply for any others (at least without the bonus). Maybe I should go straight to the Zync or other low annual fee ones and cancel before a year?
Thanks.
I'm new to this myself, but just wondering - why not go for a first year free card (like Gold) and then move to a zero-fee-forever card? This way you get to enjoy whatever additional benefits the card provides for a year and also get possibly much larger joining bonus. Especially since you won't get the large joining bonus if you already have a membership rewards account via another card.
