That was actually a slightly different scenario, since in that case I would not be SDCing but actually buying another ticket outright for a different day - so I was wondering if there was any way to salvage the original ticket. If I SDC I fully expect whatever seat for which I no-show to go into the standby pool. And oddly enough, though kind of similar, that thread had no traction. Anyway, thanks for the ongoing replies!
