Starbucks charge a lot, we give it free as part of the service.
But the point is that BA coffee is much worse than other airlines coffee. Starbucks was an example of what UA used to serve (may still serve) and was considerably better than any coffee I have had on BA, even in First. And UA didn't charge for it either, not even in Y. Does it make things simpler if I call it United Coffee?
For the airlines I have a lot of familiarity with over the past 15 years, I'd rate their coffee as follows:
First: UA
Second: AA (yes, don't laugh!)
Third: Delta
Last, by a long way: BA
