ETA: The AUH website points out repeatedly that you have to go through security if you change terminals. I'll be transiting within T3 so maybe I can avoid the security checkpoint completely?
At the risk of bringing scrutiny and screwing things up, I can say that AUH not only doesn't have scanners, but they are a bit, uhh, .... casual
about removing liquids or laptops from bags. Also a bit, uh, .... informal
about resolving WTMD alarms. As in, no, they didn't dump the terminal when I just collected my stuff and left.
The only security nonsense at AUH is that they try to cram as many carry-ons through the x-ray as fast as possible while passengers are still waiting to go through the WTMD. Whatever.
