Not dense, but (some) guys have been taught that women expect a man to pursue them, and not "give up" after the first bump.

For every woman that says what you said, I can find one that says "The man of my dreams found me early one morning..." He has to try...
And as for being twice your age, the number of "May December" couples says that it works for many.

How is a guy supposed to know if you're the one, unless he tries? Would you prefer that no guy ever talks to you? And you have to make all the first moves?
